IPRC West Joins Bwishyura Residents for August Community Work

IPRC WEST Staff and students together with the district top management today 30th August joined Bwishyura residents to officially launch the first period of agriculture 2014-2015 A.

This took place in Kigezi of Gitarama Cell in Bwishyura sector where they prepared the land to grow maize .
Kayumba Bernard, the Mayor of Karongi district prized the contribution of IPRC West to implement Government developmental policies like Umuganda and said it should be a model for the rest of schools in the district.  He also urged the residents to work in cooperatives and follow instructions given in agriculture for the good productivity.
Army and the police also participated and valued IPRC West participation. For this, the police urged attendants to keep such spirit for road safety and join efforts to curb the traffic of young females.
Leaders said Maize will be grown in the first term beans in the second and cassava in the third.
Apart from, Community Work related activities; leaders addressed to the population about other developmental activities.
IPRC West management urged the youth to join Technical and Vocational Education and Trainings(TVET) especially Hospitality Center to open next year where 400 students will be registered in Culinary, Carpentry, Housekeeping and Front Desk services in addition to Motor Vehicle Mechanics, welding, Electricity and ICT currently functioning in the Vocational Training Centre(VTC) of this institution.
The Mayor also warned the community to control their trips towards the neighboring countries under the menace of Ebola. In case they do so, he advised them to use secured borders.
